NIGHTSCAPES
(2015 - 2016)
The Nightscapes are a series of plein air paintings produced on site and at night of Miami's constructed settings. Made from gouache paint on black surfaces made of pleather or paper the residential homes and artificial sources of light occupy the subject matter of the nocturnes. The domicile structures painted were rapidly being destroyed to make way for luxury housing.
The paintings act as an witness the loss of middle-class urban cores of Miami.
